Event Details

Islam is one of the three  “Religions of the Book,” sharing a common scripture with Judiaism and Christinaity, and yet, Islam is often the most misunderstood.   This month Muslims are observing Ramadan, the days between the new moons when they refrain from eating and drinking from sunrise to sundown in solidarity with those who lack adequate food and water and as a reminder of God’s call to give from our blessings.
Please join the UMA in welcoming Aala AL-Hashimi, Wells 2019 graduate to talk about this Pillar of her religion and the importance of it for all Muslims.  Aala is from Afghanistan and now lives in Ithaca.
