Shannan Vance-Ocampo serves as the General Presbyter for the Presbytery of Southern New England. Prior to this call she was the Transitional Executive Presbyter for Albany Presbytery, served two pastorates in New Jersey, and did clinical and pastoral field work in Chicago, IL. At the national church level she serves as the Chair-Elect of the board of the Presbyterian Mission Agency and is a member of the Committee on the Office of the General Assembly after serving for many years with the Presbyterian Peace Fellowship and their human rights accompaniment program with the Presbyterian Church in Colombia. She is working on her Doctor of Ministry at Memphis Theological Seminary in Land, Food and Faith Formation. Her husband, Juan Gabriel Ocampo Valle, is a native of Bogotá, Colombia, where they also maintain a home. They have one daughter. She is an avid gardener and added a few chickens to her garden during the pandemic.
